Does a Brewers-Rays Fall Classic excite you? A World Series reader poll New York Times (Online) Kaci Borowski Much has been made — and will be made — about this year's World Series matchup between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Tampa Bay Rays. The two small-market teams, both in the bottom half of MLB's payroll rankings, provide an interesting contrast to the past two championship pairings, which featured a No. 1 market team against a No. 2 market team, and a team with the biggest payroll in the sport against one in the top five, respectively. The Brewers and Rays have no shortage of intriguing narratives and exciting characters in their clubhouses, but with the much-anticipated Hollywood sheen and global appeal of the Los Angeles Dodgers knocked out in this year's NLCS, it's unclear what level of viewership and fanfare this series will bring to baseball's biggest stage. With that, and the online discourse about the television ratings in mind, we'd like to know: How interested are you in an all-small-market World Series? And who will you be rooting for in this David vs. David faceoff? Below is a two-question survey asking baseball fans how they feel about this World Series matchup. Thank you for participating. We'll return ahead of Game 1 on Friday with the results.
