Women's World No. 3 Fallon Sherrock has been named as one of 24 “amateur” darts players challenging world champion Luke Littler to win a £501,000 ($671,297.42) prize.
Netflix announced the 'Beat Luke Littler' event
earlier this month, a competition that would offer “amateur” darts players the opportunity to beat the world No.1. However, the American streaming service's selections have been met with mixed reactions.
On Thursday (October 22), fans were disappointed to find out that instead of just amateurs being offered the chance to face the 19-year-old, several established professional players would instead participate.
Sherrock, a 32-year-old who has won 21 PDC Women's Series titles, was named by Netflix as one of the 24 contestants. This is in addition to 15-year-old Mitchell Lawrie, who in 2025 became the first teenager to reach a WDF World Championship final, and 14-year-old Jayden Walker, who earlier this month beat a record previously set by Littler by winning the England International Open and becoming the youngest winner of a senior WDF title.
Think you could beat Luke Littler? This lot certainly do. 🎯

When asked what he was expecting from the “amateur” players, 19-year-old Littler said: “I have no idea, and that's the fun part. I imagine they are going to be a good standard and can throw a dart or two, but who knows.
“My first thought was that this could be life-changing for someone if they beat me, and my second thought was hopefully no one does! It's a good opportunity for myself to show what I can do.
“My mentality is that if I play at my best, no one can beat me. There's half a million quid up for grabs. I won't be going easy at all. I'll be wanting to beat everyone who comes up. Maybe the first few legs could be a bit nervy, but once I get going then I don't think anyone will stop me.”
The response on social media to the selected contestants has been mixed, with large groups of fans dismayed that professionals have been chosen instead of amateurs, as was initially teased.
On July 27
, Netflix released a promo video where they asked people who believed they could beat the teenager to apply for a chance to play against him at their event.
Littler has emerged as the global face of darts since enjoying a breakthrough 2023 at the age of 16, which included a run to the 2024 final of the PDC World Darts Championship, a competition he went on to win in 2025 and 2026.
He has dominated the sport over the past two years and, during his success, has become no stranger to facing — and responding to — hostile crowds.
