Nikola Jokić passed Russell Westbrook for the most combined regular-season and playoff triple-doubles in NBA history on Saturday, recording the 222nd of his career in an overtime win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
Jokić dropped 35 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists in a 141-135 win over New Orleans, the three-time MVP's first triple-double of his 12th season.
Westbrook still holds the all-time regular-season record with 209 triple-doubles. Jokić is second with 199. The Nuggets center ranks third all-time in playoff triple-doubles with 23.

Typically uninterested in accolades and personal achievements, Jokić gave a brief response when asked if passing Westbrook on the career triple-double list (playoffs and regular season combined) meant anything to him.
“It's definitely something for after the career … is nice,” Jokić
told reporters
after the game.
Asked if he'd text Westbrook, Jokić reaffirmed his aim was the regular-season record.
“No if I break his official record then I'm going to text him,” the 31-year-old said.
Jokić has averaged a triple-double the last two seasons. Should he average one this season, he would match Westbrook as the only other NBA player in history to do so for three seasons in a row.
History was made Saturday, but Jokić's goal lies with the regular season mark, 11 triple-doubles away.
